PROJECT DESCRIPTION //

North Point Builders was responsible as a Construction Manager for the Central Booking Facility. The sitework encompassed site demolition, site grading, new utilities, paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and landscaping over about 4 acres. The Booking Facility was created to become the central location for processing all those arrested in Howard County. The facility includes areas for the State of Commissioners to review cases and a correctional holding area with cells, toilet facilities, police work areas, security gates, doors and hardware, complex electronic operation systems and communication systems. The building is approximately 12,000 SF with a masonry frame construction with concrete foundation and masonry foundation structural steel roof frame system with steel joist and metal deck with a built up roof system. The building shell included brick, ground face block. The building was constructed adjacent to the existing fully operational correctional facility. North Point Builders, Inc. conducted all progress meetings, provided all documentation to team members, and provided all preconstruction services including feasibility studies, budget preparation, plan and contract scope reviews. This project consisted of multiple trade packages bid out by the County and managed by the CM Team.
